I own a 1994 roadking 1340
it has 187000 miles, and began knocking.
I intend to rebuild it over this upcoming winter
Want to get power and lots of miles out of this rebuild.
I've rebuilt chevy 350 and lawn mower engines.
this will be my first motorcycle rebuild.
any and ALL suggestions and advice will be accepted and appreciated
Send the flywheels, cases & heads out to be professionally done as tooling up and experience is needed for those to be done right, reassembly is straightforward with a few specialty tools and general mechanical skills, just follow the factory manual.
The rest of the bike is tired and in need of attention also, many things it's time for replacement or rebuilding so keep this in mind as you go. You freshen one item the next downstream is going to fail and so on, how it always with these high mile R&R's.

I suggest popping this over to the Evo section and reposting there's a number of very knowledgeable people over there more in tune with evo's than I am I'm an old shovelhead guy. One thing about this forum in the specific sections, you can get good info and help from good people who know, do a little reading a few threads and you'll see who's who pretty quick.
definitely!!!!
yeah i got three shops local im looking into for the machining any national ones you might suggest?
Roeder Racing just South of Sandusky does all the machining in house and can also do your crank shaft work. If they aren't one of the 3 on your list you might want to look them up www.roederracing.com
