new 107 Hillside build coming
As for break-in, this is a topic of much discussion and controversy on the internet. It's really not that big a monster. Ride the bike easy, varying your speed - try not to ride at sustained single speed cruising like on the interstate for hours on end; keep going through the gears but don't hammer it. Try to keep rpm no higher than 3500 or so. Periodically decelerating quickly - "chopping the throttle" - will pull oil up onto the cylinder walls; this will help keep the rings and cylinders lubed. Change your oil at 500 miles. Do it some more but now you can be a little more liberal with rpm and speed. Look on S&S's website and download the instructions for one of their engine kits. Read and follow the break-in instructions. Everything I just typed is paraphrasing the S&S break-in instructions as I remember it.
If you haven't put a 62 or whatever throttle body on your 107 - I do have the right thread, right? This is a 107? - don't! My 107 has a 55mm tb and I wouldn't want any bigger! It made just ad much peak power with a 48mm; the 55 made it more responsive and more power sooner. But if it was any bigger, it would be very twitchy and difficult to ride smoothly. I ride my bike - a lot - so I want to be able to ride it smoothly.
As far as injectors go, my 107 uses stock 2002 injectors. It made 120hp on a local dyno and is not starving for fuel, ever. I am pretty sure those injectors are 4.2. So, based on that, I have to believe you do NOT need bigger injectors. Some may disagree, but the bottom line is, if the injectors are operating at less than 100% duty cycle and your motor is not starving for fuel, you don't need bigger. Period.
I hope you're happy with your build when it's all said and done.
