Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Well I talked to Scott again and it looks like I'll be taking a nice ride up to Munnsville. Headwork, port my throttle body, tune, dyno see where it is and then possibly do maybe a woods 777 cams.
Much better plan but let Scott pick a cam and build around the cam. He is partial to Woods cams and maybe the 777 is what he would propose for the build; don't know but do know that Scott has built around most of the Woods cams and knows what to expect in the right configuration. If funds are available, I would also consider a "drop in" 110" kit. In my previous I referred to "boring to 110"" which was a poor choice of words; can't be done and I meant to say 110" kit; my bad, don't want to confuse. Scott will not lead you astray; good luck with whatever you decide to do. Please update on progress; might want to start a new thread for that.

Thank you I appreciate it. His pricing already sounds more honest and I'm sure the fact that he's able to do the machining in house plays a large role. He said the end result of my 107 would be monstrous but I'll see about the 110. Hoping to drop it off July 1st. Unless someone from here can give me a ride back to Westchester I can get there next Monday lol.
Thank you and thanks for the help. Are alot of guys on here from NY?? Or do guys travel from other states to see Scott.
I wasn't going to say anything about the local guy's pricing but hinted at it in post #63 where I listed what you were getting for $4K as a way to get you thinking about what you were getting for your money without outright saying the pricing was a bit OTT but it looks like you figured that out.
I don't know how many forum members are from NY but Scott does a lot of work for DIY owners by helping with build plans and working heads and cylinders sent in from guys all over the country; Kirby at VeeTwin, in Florida does the same thing. Both offer headwork and motor "packages" and both are well respected builders, porters as well as members of this forum; can't go wrong with either one.
I'm in upstate new york just east of Lake George on the Vermont border. I used Scott for a build up of my cvo road king 110. He did my heads matched to 570s s&s cams. Scott is a great guy to deal with, I've never been to his shop but I have total confidence in packing my parts up and sending them to him for anything. You're in good hands and you're going to get a great build that'll do what Scott told you it would do. Let us know how it goes

Very cool. Now I have the itch to drop it off sooner lol
