I've got Ford ATF in my Springer primary right now. Works just fine. Can't tell any difference from the Redline primary fluid. It's cheaper than HD Formula+. That's about the only advantage I can think of.

I use half Mobil 1 ATF, one quarter WD40, three ounces of K-Y and a shot of Kentucky bourbon. Bulleit works best, but Jim Beam will do in a pinch.

That is quite a "custom blend"........lol.....that bike will need a designated driver.......

I was using trick shift atf. I stop because of the noise (clank) and funky shifts. Just tried moble1 75w-90 gear oil and will be trying red line vtwim primary next. Hopefully i arrive at something hreat. Swapping out fluids evey 200 miles is wasteful.

i have used, the HD primary oil, 10w30 motor oil, 10w40 motor oil, 20w50 harley motor oil and atf type f in the primary of my 85 flhtc. i couldn't tell the between any of them. i have 20w50 in it now because that's what i had on the shelf when i was changing it. the old 85 still has the original clutch and primary chain in it with no signs of wear, about 100k on it.
