Why shouldn't I run 20W-50 Amsoil in my primary???
The MoCo suggests there own non-sythetic lube for the primary which differs from engine oil.
Your feedback please.
I tried synthetic in the primary, didn't like it,same with a friend at work, the clutch felt like crap, was slower to grab but when it did it was like all or nothing.-The H-D stuff is good,if you don't want it try some Castrol gtx 20-50,it will work fine.
its not necessarily synthetic that you want to avoid, its anything with any friction modifiers in it. they will cause the clutch to slip.
i use shell rotella t in my primary. get it in the gallon jug at advance auto for around $12. that gallon will last you at least 4 primary changes, with some left over. it's jaso rated for wet clutches.
I've got Rotella T6 full synthetic in mine. No issues and clutch feels fine. I may switch back to Formula + though. I think it might be better for the SE compensator I recently installed.
