Steel is not just steel.
Work in the gas turbine industry, lots of different alloys that are proprietary.

Serious ??? ...has got to be more to it than that ....uh ???
"Material infringement".........what is next?......we are breathing the air needed to correctly power the "their" bikes?
Comical, but sad also.

I agree, pathetically sad. I would imagine for them (HD) to get a cease and desist they would of had to have a patent on the steel used for the liners. Oh well, i'm sure whatever S&S is using will be better anyways.
Companies get sued for patent infringement all the time. If the steel used in their liners was developed specifically for H-D and patented by them, they have all the right in the world to sue for infringement. I personally don't blame them, though for the record, I have an S&S 110" kit sitting next to me as I type this (I bought it before all this hoopla started). I bought it specifically because it came with domed pistons I could have machined for the exact compression I wanted.

No MoCo lover, but I agree. Until HD got the 110" kit out, no one was going bigger than 107" in the twinkies. Kudos to HD for developing it. Granted, I'm sure S&S refined it
