Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Hey guys I'm looking at doing a 124 in my 07 deuce. I've been back and forth and all over on what I wanna do with this engine in the last couple months. This bike is my toy. I use it in shows and local poker runs and things like that. It sees a few hundred mile days here and there. Do a lot of backroad racing among friends. I'm just looking to make this one haul ***. I can do the majority of the work myself, the exception being machine work. I'm also not opposed to simply stripping it down to the cases and shipping it off to be built. What would you guys do as far as heads cams etc? I've got a few ideas and looked at a few builds from various sources. Just curious to what you guys would do. Kinda interested to see what some of the sponsoring shops on here have to say. Thanks for any advice
Going big is sometimes the fix all. 6k just for the S&S 124. Pretty good as is but if you want to make it shine it'll be another 2k. Heads an cams and don't forget the pipe to allow it to breath... I know Scott has freshened up a few....
Or Case boring, new crank, pistons n jugs, heads, cams, throttle body, injectors, pipes.
I have built my Evo many times and sometimes I just wish i replaced the motor from the get go.... Less aggravation....
What would be a rough estimate on cost of I shipped you my cases? I know there's a ton of options, just what would you do Type thing. Right now I have a FM 107 with a SE 50mm throttle body and a fatcat 2/1 exhaust.
I will be the outlier on this one. 140HP and the "B" motor counter balancers may not play well together over time. Having said that, were I to take my '05 Deuce down that road, it would be with the LC S&S 124. JMHO.

If you really want to know, you will need to call Scott directly...
