Does your bike have any mods? Although this is one of the biggest complaints about the TC is that they are noisy.
It has a stage 1 kit in it. No cams or big bore.

I got a '17 Wide Glide, I've since replaced the air cleaner to a DK 636v and put on VH Big Radius exhaust. I've had no troubles until around the 5000 mile mark. The top end seems to be extra loud from 1800 to 2600 RPM. 2700 and above, she runs smooth (no excessive ticking)
I have 7000 miles on her and the noise is pretty consistent 1800-2600RPM.
Is this the same situation as needing/trying rocker lockers?

Thanks

food for thought..

mine was quite till recently when i lost my dyno tuned map, my stage 4 in relation to an off the shelf map is evidentely making my motor tick since the tick wasnt there before i lost my map. but anyway..

combination of timing, injection pulse, who knows... im still working on my map issues

Thanks for the info!!! I had my 2009 96 upgraded to a 103 stage 3 kit at the dealer, I have about 1200 miles and can hear a small tic or like sand hitting the fender in 5th and 6th when I'm on the top of my power band just for a second or two was kind of bothering me till I read these post. makes me feel a lot better, plan on getting it retuned to see if it go's away.

Weak lifters make noise in the top end. They collapse enough to drop the valve on the seat. Noise come from there.

What lifters would you recommend as a replacement?

Not really tied to on favorite lifter. I would go for Comp cams 850s, SnS regulars, WfoLarry / Johnson Hylift. Probably do the rocker lockers at the same time..

I'll be back on the hunt for the noise when the weather gets cold.

Load the lifter to .140".

How would I do that with stock valve train?
I'm assuming your talking about adjustable push rods.
