Default clearanced rocker boxes?

so, i have an 03 Road king classic i got used, the guy i got it from bought it used from a dealer and doesn't know much about it, it came with a stage 1 intake and and exhaust, ive always "thought" it had a cam by the idle, but am unsure, so while i had the rocker boxes apart to install rockout inserts, i noticed someone grinded or added clearance the lower rocker boxes around where the valve spring goes, is this something that is done for "bigger" lift cams?
i have pics but am unable to load them for some reason.

its done for bigger springs, which are installed for bigger cams.so it would be my guess youve got other than stock cams

Pull the cam chest cover; the cam is probably identified with a stamp on the end of the shaft.
