Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Does anybody know what the predetermined engine temp is to activate EITMS on a 2017 Heritage Softail with 103 HO? The manual says it will activate if the ambient temp and/or engine temp goes above a predetermined level but doesn't say what that level is. Mine has only activated one time since I've owned it (11 months and 12k miles) and even in these ungodly high temps we've had lately it never comes on. The only time it did activate was when I was in a bad traffic jam on a 90+ degree day and then only after creeping along in stop and go traffic for well over a half hour. That indicates to me that the bike is running fairly cool but I would love to know just how hot the motor has to get before EITMS kicks in.
i dont remember off hand, can check, but 260 came to mind when reading your post..
but so did 280..
just keep in mind.. it actually wasnt designed to save the bike.. it was designed for rider comfort, shuts off the rear cylinder and transforms it into an air pump so it doesnt bake our thighs
I didn't know that ghost....I have it on my '14 street glide but I haven't had it long...I guess you can manually activate it too...which makes sense if it's for comfort.
