True that the earlier TC88s had dual wound springs until the '05 model year but that doesn't necessarily mean the beehives were "better" functioning than the later beehives. '05 was the introduction of the beehive springs, so some TC88s have the same beehive spring as the later 96s. IIRC, the beehive spring pressures were lighter so maybe a little less wear and tear? Not sure.
