Default Extreme Vibration

I have a 2001 Night Train with a Stage 2 big bore kit (all done at dealer). The bike only has about 27k miles. At the end of spring, I was getting my bike ready for the season. Started it up and let it run for a bit with some revving of the engine. I noticed a hard vibration in the handlebars (visible to the eye). I have a dakota digital speedo and noticed when revving above 3k, the LED display vibrated. I took the bike for a test ride and it had a hard vibration everywhere (to a point where my hands hurt from the vibration and I couldn't get it over 40mph without feeling like the bike was going to blow apart (headlight even came loose).

I did a little searching online which led me to a potential issue with the counter balanced engine. Out of my skillset, so I rode the bike to the dealer and explained the situation. They couldn't find any smoking gun for the problem and said the only way to check for a counter balance issue was to tear down the engine. The only thing they said they found was a chain tensioner guide assembly was broke. Other than that and a loose primary chain, the engine was in perfect order. The only other potential fix was to send out the flywheel? to re-weld and balance, but they didn't recommend it due to the cost.

$2500 later, the bike still feels like it is going to shake apart. Looking for some leads on what the issue could be. Timing? I don't feel like riding the bike is safe and find it hard to believe anything it could be wouldn't have been discovered during the tear down/rebuild.

what did you actually do when you gave it "a bit of revving?"

What specifically did you pay $2500 for?

Two guesses.
1) Drive sprocket for the balancers has slipped on the flywheels.
2) Flywheels have shifted.
Either way your going to need deep pockets.

For the revving, I just rolled the throttle, taking it up to about 2500-3000 rpm after it warmed up a bit.

The work they did was:
Clamp, hose $1.33
Clamp, hose, .500 ID $0.91
Oil Seal $3.05
Chain Tensioner Guide Assembly $15.93
Gasket Kit, Exhaust $8.95
Gasket Kit, Engine Complete $109.84
Retaining Ring $1.08
Kit-Cam Bearing Asy, TC88 $19.95
Kit-Cam Plate, Hybrid, w/HI $499.95
Gasket Kit, Inner Primary $67.90
Gastet, Primary Cover $31.50
Roller Bearing $30.74
Ball Bearing $13.41
High-Performance Sealant $13.95
Labor $1380.00

They also did a service.

They checked the motor mount and said it was good. I'll take another look just to make sure. Thanks!

Why did they replace the cam plate? Excessive clearance on the output shaft? Wallowed out bearing?

Sounds like the balancer chain sprocket has slipped on the pinion.
Once you dig down to it, simply time it, and tack weld.
That era B engine had noted issues with those, and have witnessed that on multiple occasions here.

So, what was the point of all that?
