Yes.
Right side, mid-upper rpm focused.
Although we like to see the torque come up a quickly as possible, and carry as far as possible.

OK, that makes sense. So was there a type-o in your original post?

Nope.
In spite of a hot-rod head, we here, still strive to create a broad torque curve, as torque being defined is a twisting motion that will accelerate the vehicle, albeit, car, truck, motorcycle, and/or velocipede.
Hot rod being right side focused......

This is the statement in question. I had the same impression that it was a typo.

It's too bad that so many want to lean to left or right when the middle is just fine..

What “side” you like, depends on several factors.....including weight of bike and rider, riders daily routine..., (what you normally do with your bike), type of bike, what and how much noise from your exhaust you find acceptable, cams (BIG factor) gearing, clutch, how much cash you are willing to put into your motor, and several other factors.
HP junkies of course like big numbers up top “right side”, but two up, heavy baggers or guys who tour with lots of gear would need a “instant hit”, “left side” power curve. For me, all that would do is spin my high HP lightweight bike’s rear tire and be worthless...
No free lunch, and those who say “power down the middle”, on both sides”, usually means compromises on both ends..... or pay big $ to get it everywhere.
No free lunch....
So-as as far as ported heads....OP, why won’t you name your porter? I know several outstanding porters who will work on heads ported by others.
You want others to stick their neck out- but you won’t? Ported heads are but one of a dozen motor mods to achieve a specific goal....look at your motor, bike, etc, as one unit. Period.
if you are happy with him, back him and walk your talk....

Those who like to putt got for the left. Those who like to beat their chest got for the right. Those who like to ride go for the middle..

I have to agree..It's the middle that really makes the difference in our street bikes. Who really wants to beat the **** out of their ride...
