I have a 2 part question so bare with me...Im new to Harley davidson but not to motorcycles or riding, I have a 09 Road King classic and I purchased a Big Sucker stage 1 and in the directions it says in bold letters that I need the throttle body bracket...but just for ***** and giggles I put it on without it as my bike does not have said bracket...everything went on with no problems whatsoever I haven't started the bike or gone out with it as theres is still snow on the ground so what does this bracket do is it just to support the filter backplate? I bought the bracket as I'm paranoid something catastrophic will happen...and on that note I want to remove the tank to put the bracket on but it's full of fuel as I always do before storage...if I start following directions and start pulling lines ets etc will fuel just dump out uncontrollably or is it just a few drops kind of thing? Or just wait and burn off what's in the tank before taking it off? Thanks for the help and my apologies for a long post.
The fuel line should be a quick connect fitting. you will have a trace amount leak out when you disconnect so have a rag ready.
bigger issue is the weight of the tank if its full. itll be over 60 lbs and its an awkward lift. id drain it or drain most of it and make life easier.
