I recently installed Cobra Neighbor hater slip ons on my 2017 RG. Just the slip ons. Nothing else. I was amazed at the power increase and of course I love the sound. One time with start up, after installing the slip ons, I had a loud back fire noise. It only happened once. I didn't pay it any mind. The bike was running the same and good afterwards. I don't know when it started happening, but I recently started noticing an oil spray all over my right saddle bag lid. Actually this past Saturday my brother in law noticed it. He said you probably filled the oil too high. Let it burn off and put a little less in next time. The oil level is right up to the line while hot on the jiffy stand. Then I was riding with some friends on Sunday and they started talking about sumping. One of the guys who's bike is a few years older says his bike has been doing this (spraying oil) for years and he has no problems. He just keeps the air box clean and keeps riding. I'm not a mechanic but I looked up sumping. Other than the oil spray I don't notice any similar symptoms. Is it possible I blew a gasket with the back fire? Coincidence with the back fire? Should I worry about sumping? My initial warranty is up the end of August. The dealers in my area of NJ are real ********. I'm expecting them to void my warranty because of the slip ons. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Did the backfire noise come from the intake or the exhaust?
Well I doubt you blew a gasket. A good cough can blow crap out the breathers on TCs and EVOs. My big problem with a stage 1 air filter on my M8 is after cleaning and oiling. Right saddle bag gets dribbled on.

Im new to the forum, but just had same problem with my 17 Roadglide. After first 250 miles of trip bike was cover in oil dripping out of
air cleaner. I took it to a dealer the next morning to see whats up. they said that he was aware of problem and that they were replacing the
oil sump with larger one and not to worry. Service manager even cleaned my bike up. After I got home local dealer said they have no info from
Harley on this problem, I told him to call that service manager and call me back. still waiting. Called the good dealer he said they never called him.
So what do I do?

If I understand this right I would go back to the good dealer. Why would you even bother with the other guy. The bad dealer sounds like business as usual in my area. Thats why I avoid them at all costs. The only service Ill get is to be dicked around.
