08 RG throttle issue ? Limp mode
What's up fellas, well got stuck working on a buddy's nightmare he bought. Long story short this thing went into a limp mode. Wont throttle up. I have a power vision on it and the twist grip % goes up when u twist throttle. But the TPS dose not move. It is stuck on #7 . It will fluctuate if I wiggle the plug a bit. It will go from 7 to 8 back and forth. Now if I manually push the throttle blade open the % goes up and back down. Has anyone has a issue like this one by chance?

I had grip twist sensor problems an it usually is the green connector inside the handle bar for the sensor. from what I've heard an read the sensor rarely fails but the connector does. You could try pulling the twist sensor out cutting the green connector out an sodering the wires directly. there are 2 sets of wires with the same colors one from a yellow sleeve an one from a black sleeve so I did mine one at a time. MY fixed one worked for a while but I ended up buying a new twist sensor an the next wire from the in the bars to the inside of the fairing...about $130 total on line.

Check for codes. More than likely it's the tps correlation error. Clean the plug behind the air cleaner that plugs into the throttle body. Use electrical contact cleaner and put some dielectric grease on. Look for a broken wire near the end of the plug...you might have to pull back the covering. There's an actual wiggle test thst HD has. Look for a loose pin the plug too. Chances are it just needs to clean really good...its on my yearly maintenance schedule now.
