Default Star Racing 126

I purchased an S&S 126 from Star Racing for my 2009 Road King. Have had nothing but problems. Valve seats leaked from the moment I got it home. They did correct that problem but in doing so they evidently adjusted my push rods too tight and I had to replace them all. After about 10,000 miles it began burning oil and belching more oil out the breather. No compression. I assumed the rings were bad. Had the engine torn down at my local Harley Dealer and found that not only were the rings shot but the heads and cases were also damaged. I loved the power and torque when the engine was running properly. However, those times were few and far between. I just blew 12,000 dollars. I had a 120R on my bike before going to the 126. The 120R was a much better engine. Not quite as much power but I never had any problems with the engine. I would beware of engine purchases from Star Racing.

That’s $1.20 per mile. I’ve done worse.

Race engines tend to have cast iron rings that need to be changed on a regular basis, forces you to that a peek at things on a regular basis.

"Adjusted push rods to tight and had to replace them all"
Um... Really? Doesn't make sense. Am I missing something?

This has all the makings of a butthurt customer with an unjustified axe to grind.

Pics or it didn't happen. And a reply from Star to fill in some blanks.
