Early EVO cams are .050 longer than late
Aftermarket cams are made to the short spec so that they may be fitted to both iterations.
The shim is a common part
You can buy a set of shims like in the link above, or better yet, after new cam bearing is installed, you dry fit the new cam and install the cam chest cover with a gasket, and measure the free play using feeler gauges. It will tell you what thickness of shim you need to get. The factory manual shows you this procedure, and lists the spec. I think the spec is really wide (.001 to .050) but you want around .010 to .015 range in end play.
For comparison's sake, my brother's running the EV13 in his FXRS...I was very concerned when his "Harley Guy" recommended an EV46 as a drop-in cam, but I was able to steer him towards the EV13 and a 2-1 exhaust. He rides 50% 2-up and doesn't rev it out, ever. The cam, exhaust, and tuning provided a very nice seat of the pants bump in power. Here's the dyno graph:
