I really don’t want to get into the head work Scott but what about the 77 cams I have V&H powerduels ,just lookin for some more *** out off this 103 !
Are you wanting more low end, stump pulling, dead at 4500rpm power or smaller gain down low and more hp and smokin' midrange making power to 5500+rpm power?
How do you ride? Solo? What rpm range?
If you want a broader torque curve and don't care so much about lugging it much below 2200rpm, then the S&S 570s do well in a stock 103 at 9.6. as would the TW555s or Andrews 57s. They'd do a little better at 10:1 and you could get close to that just changing the head gaskets but they will do just fine stock too. I'm running the 570s at stock compression in a softail and my ccp is 190psi. For how I ride, those and the 555s were the right choice. I'm still running in the neighborhood of 95ft.lbs of torque at 2200rpm. Not exactly a pooch down low but not stump pulling at 1800rpm either. I'm rarely below 2600rpm.
If by 77s you mean the TW777 those I probably wouldn't run stock tho some do. Stick with the 555s.
You really need to honestly think about how you ride. Not how others ride or think you should.
