Rebuild/cam questions
SO this winter I'm going to put a 96" stroker kit in my 74" shovelhead. I know there are some old heads on here to help guide me, so my question is ive got an andrews c grind cam, and I've found a place to do my machine work. Is the c grind cam my best bet for cam choice? My entire goal here is for more low end and top end power, will I gain power from this stroker?

we used a lot of C grind cams back in the day when there wasnt a lot of choices.a C grind isnt the best for low end TQ and is more of a higher rpm cam,also the TDC lifts are tall so the valves must be sunk pretty far (past protrusion spec) to get enough valve to valve clearance.their are many better choices these days. V THUNDER 4010,S&S 514 & lienweber L6 are good choices

I agree with Kirby's C grind comment.
That cam needs GIANT compression to work, but still lends itself to upper rpm power.
S&S .560 is a good choice, but the all-time broad power cam, that is no longer, was that Red Shift .580 IMHO.
