Will be pulling the top end off this winter. 2001 883 with 31000 miles.
Looking for advice on what to do on the heads while I have them off. Any ideas on replacing valve springs, valve guides and valves.
If I do, what are the best ones to go with?

Better off looking for a set of XB heads. Even in stock form they're better than those 883 heads. You'll need to do considerable headwork to be able use a cam worth a sh!+. More than just valves and springs.
Since he's got the conversion pistons going with an XB head would yield a very low CR. Unless he wants to switch to flat top pistons he's stuck with the 883 heads.
Hammer Performance is great with the Sportster and Buell engine hop-ups. They can do an 883 head up right and give you over 100hp with the right cams. Check them out. Depends on how much you want to spend though.
do a 883 to 1200 conversion & find a set of 1200 heads
That's what I said but he's already got the conversion with dished pistons. Unless he could change them.
Probably shoulda talked to Hammer first. You're going to get the small finned cylinders anywhere else and if they're highlighted, Hammer's are CNC'd.
Big finned looks better and cools better.
Also, why do a 1200 when you could do a 1275 for the same cost?
