I have a clicking sound coming from the air cleaner. Was told it’s because of the Arlen Ness being open to the intake and it’s the valve? Or something inside. Attached a video of it. Has anyone else had this or heard this and could tell me if it’s normal or not. Never had a bike do it before. Thanks.

 

i do not think that is the problem, what i hear is lifter issue. even though you have efi, it still has a throttle plate so it really is not open to the world.

 

is there something that may have been left out or deletes when the air cleaner was installed?

Does sound like lifter noise , maybe because the A.N is more open around the engine , the sound is more pronounced . Can't think of anything that the T.B would have that would make the noise . If you can pin point where the sound is coming from , might be able to diagnose it . Is the sound coming from the top rocker box's , if so which cylinder or both ?

Was the A.N just installed , any other work done ?

It’s loudest right at the AC honestly, that’s where the noise is coming from. I’ll have to start it up again and listen a little better to the rockers

 

Use a small length of hose or a long screwdriver as a stethoscope and hold one end to your ear , then check different locations on the bike , should help narrow down your search .

 

Any other mods to the motor?
