Are you the customer? Tell your "builder" to stow his rumor mill and use the EZ cams. OEM's have been using that technology (some even have S&S make their cams) for years now with zero issues.

Forget the ez cam . 10.5:1 compression yes you need compression release. If you take the short cut you will pay for the mistake latter.
Look at it this way why did HD put Compression releases on as standard equipment when the raised compression to 10:1.

Not sure what the MCRs are costing you or what you paid for the standard version cams but you would've spent roughly another $80 on the easy starts. I paid $270ish for my standard 570s and the easy starts would've been $350ish.
Probably close to a wash?

Pretty sure the average price to machine in a set of manual compression releases are right around $150. The nice thing about doing them is that you don't have to take the tanks or anything off to get to your ACR's.. They're right there in the wide open.. So when they do go bad it's a 5-minute fix... To each their own.....

The advantage of the EZ starts over MCRs is they are always ready for hot starts (say for instance a stall in traffic) as opposed to having to reach down and open MCRs. I have EZ start gear drives in my Road King and am very pleased with them. Mechanically, I'd say an ACR or MCR would fail before the S&S EZ, it's not new technology.

Yup. Think of the cost to have your heads machined, buying the MCR's, and the bitch about having to reach down every time you wanna crank your bike over.

Now think of how much the EZ cams are over the normal ones.

Are those two values the same? Doubt it...

Although I have manuals I will point out that my 1970 Cub Cadet with a Koehler 301 single had ACR with a centrifugal valve lifter device!!😃
And it wasn’t a new idea then!😃

Enh... it's no big deal. It becomes very routine, like turning the ignition switch on before hitting the start button. I've never bitched about having to press my MCRs. Not meant as a comment on the EZ start cams, Just an observation.

Cheers!
