Need some help guys I have a 2005 road king 88 with 20000 miles on her I installed new cam shafts cam plate high flow oil pump .
Now I decided to put the S/E 95 big bore kit in got it all together changed oil ran the bike once up to operating temp I get A knock
sounds like its in the rear jug? Only when warm if I throttle the bike the noise goes away Im at a loss any ideas? Please help!!
oh yeah compression is good motor runs perfect !
Need more info. What cams, lifters, push rods and adjustment if applicable, etc.
You say you did a 95 bore and took it for a ride...I assume you did heat cycles and break in miles? Or broke in on a dyno first? A video of it running making the noise would sure help.
It has 203 cams adjustable push rods S/E lifters ! I put the motor back together and started it on the rack as soon as it got warm is when I heard the new sound . Bike never left the rack I shut it down let it cool and restarted once back to operating temp the knock came back I can try and post a video when I get back to the shop
Bike still on rack with the same noise once it gets warm!! I did a comp test both jugs at 175 I just cant figure it out I even changed the lifters just to be sure re did the adjustable push rods 4 times has perfect oil pressure runs great until hot ! I do not know how to post the sound clip I took of it running please help
The head gasket has me thinking I did put the cometic head gaskets on it and they are way thicker so you think I should tear it back down inspect it and put the hd head gaskets on it
What was your piston to cylinder wall clearance..? according to the video it sounds like a tight piston when hot.. Check the cylinder wall for scuffing.. You can purchase a bore scope pretty cheap today...
