Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
I’ll start from the beginning early summer I replaced everything in the cam chest with all screaming eagle parts 203 cams rode all summer no issues this winter I did the 95 inch jugs and pistons that’s when the noise started ! I replaced the lifters before the tear down once motor got hot noise came back now I’m back to square one cam chest out bike completely tore down! I see no damage anywhere except the scoring in cylinders and ring gaps lining up not sure where to go from here
It's getting harder to figure out what's wrong. The sound sounded mechanical but it also sounds kind of wheezy. With the domes could the pistons be hitting the combustion chamber? Look for small marks at the edge of the camber dome.
