I DID find a loose comp nut, and destroyed rotor/stator, but after replacing the broken parts, the knock remained. The other day, I got a stethoscope, and started listening around. Once I put the probe under the bolt between the cylinders, I could hear the noise plain as day. Definitely a bottom end knock in my case. She'll be going in for a complete engine tear down, and getting a plugged and balanced stroker crank. Can't really complain mind you. I got over 350,000 kms (217,500 miles) on the original bottom end.

Here's a video where you can hear the noise her engine is making, and see where I discovered the loose compensator nut.

Hopefully, you don't find a bottom end problem.

Cheers!
Said this before but if you found the nut on comp tight, it didn't come loose. The 10B spline is a weak point till Harley went to serrations. (They look weaker but aren't since there is a lot less material gone in their design)

The spline strips on either clutchless slam shifts or even hard downshift engine braking.

Then the comp spring drives the alternator for a while even slipping a little until it face wears too much. If it moves over a 1/32 from wear, it throws sprockets out of alignment and in your case even wore the bore out.

Under the extended warranty they just tightened mine twice without checking. The third time, I said screw it and torn it down. It had been stripped for a long time and you could see the sprocket nips on the chain.

Mine was still charging however. I'll post a picture of the face wear.

You can see the wear ring in the face. Spline gone. However not nearly bad as yours. The bolt nut was still tight from the Loctite.

Nips on chain links.

Made sure with bolt nut was tapped far enough. Some have said theirs wasn't.
