Hi,
I wanted to know what would be a good replacement for the SE-259 cams that came with my 103 to 110 tire shredder kit, below are the specs of my kit currently:
Big Bore 4.0" Bolt-On Cylinders
CNC-Ported Factory Cylinder Heads
Forged 10.5:1 Compression Pistons
SST Piston Rings
SE-259 cams
Perfect-Fit Pushrods
High-Capacity Roller Tappets
58mm Throttle Body
High Flow Fuel Injectors
Heavy Duty Clutch Spring
T-man air cleaner
D&D fat cat with louvered baffles
Here are the cam specs in case you needed them to compare others. I like these cams actually. They are in a 117, SE Ventilator, V&H True Duals, to CVO cans with a 1/2" hole drilled in the baffle, and CVO heads with high-lift beehive springs though.
Was the kit measured/set to a specific compression, or bolted together for an "advertised 10.5:1" ? Should make 120 ish squared. May just need a gearing change.

It was not measured, it is what been advertised in the harley catalogue.
Every one of those I measured came in around 10.3-10.36 CR. Slightly soft for a 47° close cam (intake events are the same SE259E & Woods 8 Woods cams have slightly more aggressive ramps). Either cam shows better results with more compression (10.8-11.0).
I liked to substitute .030" cometic head gaskets, verify/set chamber size, and trim cylinders for a zero deck, assemble, then tune. Typically made 122-125 TQ, 120-125 HP depending on pipe/TB.

Those Cometic .030" head gaskets are the ones that came with the kit I have on my bike. I have the race 117 kit. Part number ends in 52.
