Default I messed up.

How bad? Idk.

Heres the story...
Last summer, I somehow snapped my exhaust bracket off my Basani RR II, clean. I drove a few minutes home before I had realized what happened. I got the bracket replaced, went on my merry way, and then noticed a misfire, a rattle, a weird exhaust noise. My exhaust stud snapped, sheered clean off the head.

I did what dummies do and tried a left han

ded drill bit and drilled a few millimeters into the head on the right side, near the top... Do I need a new head? Is there anyway I can take out the bolt now....?

Do I just sell the piece of junk?

Sportser 98 with a 1275 kit.

You can somewhat see it on the picture, Ill try to grab clearer ones in the near future.

You don't have to call me a dummy, I know.

There are tools to help drill that bolt cleanly, for instance Jim's 1705:

Worst case you remove the head and take it to a machine shop who can remove the bolt.

No reason to panic

Getting the proper tool from Jim's is a lot cheaper than tearing down the bike to take the head to a machine shop.. Not only that who knows what else you'll run into or cause.....

Slow down, and relax first and foremost. Soak the threads with several cycles of penetrating oil. Stuff the hole with a wad soaked with the penetrating oil and let it sit for a few days . Then get the proper removal tool like a Jim’s as others have mentioned.

OP; No worries...this is how we learn. Get the right "tools for the job" (per above), have patience & you'll be back w/ wind in face soon. Also, as always, bike's Service Manual is your friend.

Call a reputable machine shop and find out how much it will cost before you buy anything.

Not a hard fix for someone with experience. But if you are new to using an extractor and or drilling out and tapping it . Maybe best to let a pro do this one.

I would find someone with a welder. I would weld a nut on it and take it out. Might take a few tries if it's really seized in the head but I bet it's not seized and will come right out
