Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Got past the 500 mile break-in on my 16 Road King with the SE 110" tire shredder kit and did some rolling start 2nd thru 4th gear full throttle runs. DAMN SAM what a difference from the 103! Pulls like a freight train from 2500 all the way to 5500! Put a Tmax ECM on at the same time, seems to be "learning" the needs of the engine based on the automap adjustments it's made. Can't wait to get out on the open highway and test it in 5th and 6th.
Hate to pee in your oatmeal but wouldn't want anyone else thinking this tire shredder kit is all that. Aftermarket would have left you speechless in comparison. I've seen this kit struggle to hit 105/115. That's stage 2 103 performance.
HD says it has the POTENTIAL to hit 113hp. That's pathetic for a 110 that should see 130/130 fairly easily.
I have to ask, what made you go to the dealership for a performance upgrade? Especially since your bike wasn't even under warranty? Just curious.
And I don't want people to think it's less than what it is just because someone says so. There's two videos on the internet you need to watch. You can find them doing a search for "110 tire shredder kit". The first is a dyno run of exactly what I have on my bike. 126HP / 136TQ. The second is two guys, one on a 110 tire shredder, the other on a 117" M8 with Harley Stage 4 kit. The 110 beats the 117 on the low end, the 117 wins on the high end.
I let the dealer do the install so they would be fully responsible for any issues with it. I chose the SE kit because I can take to any Harley dealer in the world and they can get parts if needed. Not to mention the price of the SE kit can't be beat since it includes some of the best heads out there, a 58mm throttle body and fuel injectors.
Please post the dyno sheet. It might help members the could be discouraged by negative comments about the 110 Tire Shredder kit to make the decision between that kit and aftermarket options.

That's not the dyno sheet for your bike which is what I think other members will want to see, not a dyno sheet from another build. If you haven't had the motor dyno tuned, what tune are you running?
