Nope comes from my technical knowledge of 55 + years of wrenching, no AI.

Disclaimer is there because of certain individuals that consistently spew gibberish and crap up threads.

55 years of wrenching, huh. AI might do you some good.

You ever change a pair of lifters on Harle in the last few decades?

In case you were wondering what Harley lifters looked like, and because people cry out to see pics of my bikes.

While I agree you must measure wear. I am far from convinced lifters and cams are replaced as set

I have always replaced at same time, based on mileage and I was upgrading cam. Without intent to go back in cam chest

I am well aware

I definitely should have added a caveat to my post. Just an opportune time to add a great set of heads.

Your post is spot-on, I was chasing a bit more power on that one I had.

When I do cams then I always do lifters.. But depending on mileage.. As for precision by S&S they are holding up fine to spring pressures of 170/400 where the Woods Alpha lifters failed...

Thanks all for sharing your experience. I swapped my stock tappets with 30k on them for S&S Precision lifters with the Quickie installation kit (rods and tubes).
Aside from some self-imposed drama due to carelessness, the job was easy.
The lifters I took out were still good- so sign of impending doom. But I can say that the new ones are noticeably quieter- no more tap-tap-tap.
So now I have piece of mind- worth its weight in gold.
