Engine codes
Upon the work being performed, I started to have trans clutch issues but I was informed by the shop that the clutch needed to be adjusted. However, it was perfectly ok prior to the work being done and they didn't touch the trans....So it's a bit confusing to have mechanical issues when the bike stock was perfectly ok. Blockhead asked me to provide them with the fault codes so they could diagnose the issues with the codes, clutch etc but since it's the weekend the shop is closed. I'm sure they will take care of the issue but this is a well known performance shop with a Master Harley technician that has tons of years of experience, but this is odd and a bit concerning...
Can anyone assist me with the fault code meaning? Thanks in advance~
There is no listing for P0303.
The H codes are historic.
Was the bike running badly when you left the shop?
Good luck!
when you do shop work, have the service writer put down your instructions and if they have to deviate, they must call you.
they may feel that more power equals a need for clutch adjustment, but really? the newer disk spring clutches have a narrow band unlike the ole coil spring ones so if it is holding before, likely it will hold after.
it is like i need to put a band-aide on my knee just in case i scrape it.
you will be surprised at what a so called hoopdy-doo famous shop can and will do. a case in point: i had warranty work done on a vehicle that included a dead channel on the sound system so what did the tech do???
all he did was run a jumper from the working channel to the dead one, while giving sound at the speaker, effectively killed the stereo output. the truth is the system had a BAD rep for failure and they knew it, but toooooo lazy or maybe DUMB so they faked it.
also, tell the shop and have it in writing to save anything replaced for your final inspection before throwing it away, if needed, put down you will not pay for anything without said demands.
sorta like a date code on products, there to keep the merchant honest.
