I take it that the regulator on the left is OEM, I see no signs of sock material going through it.. which would indicate to me that even the pump is ok..
As for the FPF pump I have read on here with issues new out of the box and replacement needed again.. You get what you pay for..

What fuel pump would you recommend?
Lots of replacements, Bosh, Delphi, Qauntum, Aeromotive etc.
And many more.

I never had to purchase one but if I did I would go with a quality brand like you mentioned, either the Bosch or Delphi which isn't the Delphi OEM?

I can pull my spare pumps down tonight and look for identification. I do know that I have the specs for some of the pumps in my notes on my bikes so I can look into that this evening. OEM pumps were Denso. I have the info on the MM for sure and I believe it carried over. Have you looked at the pump you took out for Identification?

I considered OEM but when I checked availability, PN 62897-01B came up obsolete; also $256. Photo of the OEM pump is attached; made in Czechoslovakia. From what I can determine, Quantum pumps are manufactured in Ventura CA and everything I read about quality, customer service etc. is good. I read on another forum that the FPF pumps are made in China. I am a member on HTT and the Aeromotive 11540 is suggested as replacement more than once but when I checked it out, a new sender is included so I am not sure about that one; not interested. So I am thinking Quantum would be a good replacement.

The number is blurry 3C 48N-A2

I pulled down all my pumps and pulled my notes on specs. These specs are for MM& Delphi touring bikes of that ERA, but I believe the pump is the same for your bike. I took a pic of the pump next to a measuring tape so you can compare. One of the pumps had the same markings as yours with the made in Czech.

My notes indicate Spec is a Denso Pump Part# 195130-6390. This matches the P/N on the pump I took a pic of. Another note I have says Model H3861. AFCO may have also been a supplier of the Denso part.
These are the flow specs:
12.0V
4.5A = 300 kPa
5.0A = 400 kPAa
Flow spec as >/= 45 L/H minimum

The Aeromotive 11540 is the center inlet pump.
The 11541 is the offset pump that i almost bought.

Photo of my pump length which is shorter. Now I am seeing another issue; making sure I order a pump that will fit in the housing. FPF is suggesting I test the regulator first but other than checking the fitment of the regulator in the housing or the possibility of a crack in the housing, I don't know how to test the regulator. I have the OEM regulaor and I suspect it is probably good but I don't know if there is a bench test for it.

I do not think yours is shorter looking at both pics. Both look like about 4 3/4". I could take it down again and get a better pic.

Thanks Ed but not necessary. Is there a way to bench test a regulator?
