Default Cam Gears

So I have a bit of a problem y'all... I was trying to replace my cam gear side covers on my nightster and came across a problem. When I took of the old side covers the gears popped out. I tried putting them back in but the pushrods do not allow them back in. The service manual explains the timing marks but does not explain further. I was hoping someone here could explain as to what I am suppose to do next. Thanks

The lifters expanded when the gears popped out. Now you'll have to pull the rockers,
then reinstall the gears, then install the pushrods and tighten down the rockers.

Good thing you have a manual.

Pay close attention to rotating the engine to Top Dead Center when installing the rockers and pushrods and rememnder that lifters need time to bleed down.

Good Luck
