Old Exhaust Baffles
Well at low rpm the engine bogged down a bit but once the rpm got up around 1500 then the engine really took off. All sorts of power and awsome acceleration.
Engines need some back pressure, but these baffles are obviously creating too much back pressure. A previous owner had cut them in half trying to reduce back pressure which still fell short of the goal.
I have read past posts (which of course can't be found when I need to) talking about opening up the baffles by forcing a rod through the tabs to bend them down.
This would reduce the back pressure but just how much to bend these down is the question. I remember them mentioning the diameter of the rod but thats about it.
So does anybody know how much to open these baffles? I know some trial and error will be involved but too much bending of these tabs will only end up breaking them off which wouldnt help. So I'm looking for a good starting point.
Oh, did I mention the exhaust sounds great without the baffles !!!!!
