Hi Folks,
Have a question for you savvy DIY mechanics out there. im sure some of you may have experienced this: my 2003 fatboy (14k miles) is really hard to start, and it backfires a little out the exhaust while attempting to. If and when it does start, it runs fine, accelerates and idles well. Got the bike with 8k miles 2 years ago and have not had any problems with it until now. been in storage in my garage for 6 months, started and ran fine before it went into storage. has fresh gasoline in tank. What the heck could it be?? Thanks for any help!
Carb or EFI? Any codes? It sounds like a cam position sensor but I don't think yours has that, so maybe the crank position sensor? If it's a carb, check and see if your accelerator pump is working and clean the carb. Start at the basics 1st.
