Default Replacing Engine Temp Sensor on TC

2004 Heritage

Replacing the engine temp sensor on my '04 FLSTCI, having a clearance issue getting to the deep 3/4" with a ratchet. Will a 3/8" drive joint do the trick or will I not be able to torque it enough to break it loose?

If it is the same as my 96" I used an extension, maybe 12 long or so.

The angle it comes off the front head keeps me from doing that because the rear head is blocking the use of an extension unless I use a joint. Don't have a joint, and I'm not sure I can reef on it hard enough with a joint to still break it loose because it won't be a 90 degree angle.

remove the horn bracket from the heads. That should give yo a bit of room. There is NO sealant (won't work with that crap) and it's not torqued all that much, either. If you can get a wrench or socket on it, it should go. They ARE dissimilar metals, but have not seen much corrosion.

I finally got it, thanks for the help. Engine temps now look normal and steady.
