Default How to pick a builder?

So the problem I'm facing when looking at builders ( fuel moto, dragos, hillside) is that there specs all seem to be the same, price seems to be roughly the same ( minus hillside who doesn't list pricing online) and all have great reviews from members here and all are about 6-8 hours from cincinnati lol. How the h*ll am I supposed to choose one lol.. Any help would be nice

Talk to them and pick the one ya are comfortable with. If ya want more ask for some customer references.

Hillside repeated customer here! I don't live next door either. I'm in Missouri and they are in NY.

Your builder is the guy assembling the motor. Guys sending you parts, new or modified, are not "the builder".

Its all about yer gut. If you have any insight or experience with them that should help. Hell I sent my motor almost 3 thousand miles because I had the most confidence in his shop. Coulda threw a rock within 500 miles and hit a bunch of shops but didnt trust them. Lotta guys will promise you the moon and a warranty is only as good as the shop behind it.

There are lots of builders out there with excellent reputations. Are you looking to drop off your bike and have it built, or order the "kit" and assemble it yourself? Lots more options if you're going with the latter.

I went with Jamie and Fuel Moto this time because i was doing my own work but i've sent bikes across the country to builders i trusted vs local shops. You will find several great shops right here with plenty of references. Call em talk to em ask them your pertinent questions and go with your gut. Hillside, FM both do great work and stand behind it, plus they are good about helping out on these forums even when it doesnt necessarily mean business for them and that goes a long way in my book.
