Default Bore juggs .020 over
What will happen if you bore your cylinders .020 but don't install new pistons to match, only new rings that are for .020 pistons? Seems like a recipie for problems, right?

you would think that those rings would break quickly. the cost to bore it out would probably be as much as a couple of new pistons...why not do it right? you should be able to find some used pistons at least.

This is something a friend of mine did and I told him I didn't think it was a good idea, I just didn't know what would actually be the end result.

let me get this straight,he kept the std pistons,bored it .020 and used .020 rings?? he`ll be taking it back apart soon enough.the rings wont last at all and like stated earlier,have a very good chance of breaking

The rings will very likely come apart the first time he hits the throttle. Then It's all down hill from there. Kinda' like a chain reaction type of thing!
