Default 93 Electra Glide removal of tourpak

I've had my 93 since Dec 92 and want to change the look more to a Streetglide. I was told if I take the tourpak off and the rack it sits on I would have to get something for a rear fender support. I've seen J & P catalog has a support with little lights on it # 330-219. The plate doesn't really look like it does anything. Any thoughts on this. Also I need to do something about the radio antenae is there something simple to relocate it to one of the saddlebags? Thanks.

You can go with a Road King plate hoop on yours. The tour pack stuff really doesnt do anything for fender support. You can do the quick release tour pack kit so that you can use the TP when you want there is an antenna relocation kit available also. I just put the TP release and antenna kit on my 89 today. I will get some pics tomorrow and post them if you like.

I took the TP mount off of my '90. Nothing there even touching the fender. I don't see a problem.
I made a bracket for my antenna.

Like Mountainman I did the same, I used a plate mount right on the fender rather than the non existent hoop for our 89's. Quick release mounts up nicely.

Just did this to my 95 flhtc, when you remove the mounting rack for the TP you will need fender spacers on the shock bolts to replace where the rack was. I used some 5/8 id fender washers because the spacers are obsolete but did finally find some online, i have the part number if you need. Also if your seat screws to TP mount like mine did you can grab a longer 1/4-20 allen screw and a 1" vinyl bushing. search my posts i put up pictures on 1 of them also check out softbrake.com for a under taillight tag mount cheap like 40 bucks, uses the blinker bar bolts so no drilling fender

Yep, forgot about those spacers. I cut mine on my lathe out of an appropriate sized stainless bushing. I also made a license plate mount and bolted it to my blinker bar with cap screws. Works great.

I am in the middle of doing this same kind of thing with my 92 Ultra Classic. Menards has a decent stock of chrome spacers and I used 1/2 x 1/2 for the fender / shock bolts. They fit very nicely. I installed a Saddleman Profiler seat, drilled a hole in the rear fender and used a Gardner-Wescott? 2 piece seat bolt to fasten it down. I have read in this forum that the rear "hoop" thing fits no problem and have also read that it will not fit. I'm not sure about all that so I am doing something different. I cut the 2 hole rear frame / fender / saddlebag support tabs off of my old tour pack mount. I re-mounted the 2 pieces that I cut off back onto the bike. Then I cut out a u groove in the tour pack mount so it would slip over the chrome fender spacers from Menards. Now all I have left to do is to weld a smaller diameter tube into what's left of the tour pack mount, drill a hole in each of the stubs mounted to the bike for retainer pins and I will have my very own home-brewed quick detatch tour pack mount. Not sure if it will work or not yet, but it just might. I still don't have a license plate mount figured out. I am using a hidden antenna u in the front fairing.

Default Same thing to my 95

I did the tour pack removal to my 95 EG Ultra. I bought spacers at home depot to compensate for tour pack gap. Do yourself a favor and put 1' lowering air shocks on it. I did and the ride is amazing. It sits cool too...just like a stock Street Glide. I bought brackets specifically made for Harley's to connect the rear fender to the frame where the tour pack used to attach to the frame. It contains 2 brackets that have 2 holes on top to go where the two bolts of the tour pack used to be mounted to the frame and then it has an extention down to 2 offset holes that mount into the chrome piece down each side of the rear fender behind the saddlebags. The part says its for year 1997 and later but it worked fine on mine. Hope this makes sense. I now have no fender rattle and a clean bare rear fender. I also bought a license plate bracket called a Fireman Joe bracket that is made for newer Road Kings but works on older EG with a spacer modification. It attaches to the rear lower saddlebag guard mount and is on an arm extension. Looks great! I also ripped the CB off the tank and put a mirror insert I got off Ebay as well as put a Biketronics kit with a hidden in fairing antenna. It was well worth $$ and the effort...no visable antenna and HD Radio/CD/MP3 player with full use of hand controls. Also, Saddleman puts out a slim stinger style seat that rids the big bulky button seat that is stock. Transforms your bike. I'll try and find the manufacturer of those fender brackets, they work awesome! Check out the pics on my page. Good luck!
