The bike runs OK, but the erratic (low) idle is annoying and sometimes just shuts the motor off. The carb conversion would be too hard out here, no decent mechanics or workshops.
Do you have any fault codes present? What is your hot idle RPM? On my 98RKC it is 1,000 rpm.
What that link says.
Also check your temp sensor, it can cause some strange idle problems when it starts to go bad.
I've got a '96 FLHRI, so far so good. There is a lot of good info on here to keep them running.
Hello old chap, just picked up on your thread. I have a Buell Firebolt, which has an odd generation of EFI and, having an aftermarket muffler and air filter installed, popped and banged on the overrun - made old ladies and young children run for cover!
I have recently installed a Dobeck beasty and the results are remarkable. It starts more readily, idles more smoothly and rides a treat, orchestral overrun sorted. So on a sample of one, and with the usual caveats that your bike is in tip-top order in all other regards, it sounds as if one will do what you seek.
Here in the UK they were sold under the brand Kitech.
Hi there! I just got an XR1200X with a Kitech fueler and Remus exhaust. By any chance, do you have the manual for the Kitech fueler? I can't find it anywhere...
Thank you very much!

Kitech were just rebranded Dobeck products. I don't know anything about Kitech, except they no longer exist, but I suspect they may have had European distribution rights. You can get instruction manuals on Dobeck's website here. The Kiteck I have is the same as the Gen 3/EJK unit.
