Description only says "bolt" (but no bolt details or specs).
Will look at Ronnies again but couldnt find anything under Frame diagram.
The dia. of the hole in the Front Mount is 9/16".
Will see what the local Dealership has in stock. Dont like mixing UNC & Metric but I might even fit a Metric Bolt as large UNC Bolts are difficult & expensive to source here in Scotland.

+1 I like these kinds of posts. I've learned so from them.

The back of the paper parts book has everything listed by part number.
It would tell you type, length, size, and thread count.
That is one reason I think it is better to get the paper one than looking at a website.

Don't think you got the answer to the "which side up?" question so ...

Flat/triangular side top, recessed rounded side bottom.

You don't say which year you've got ... why not stick it in your signature? ...

But try for a late 80s and on Ultra ...

P/N: 3528 - BOLT, 3/8-16 X 3-1/4 hex hd. (Grade 8 steel)

Incidentally, for a TC it's

P/N: 3512 - BOLT 3/8-24 X 3-1/4 hex hd. (chrome)

So although they are the same size, watch the threads on them.
