So a while back I acquired another EVO. Is a 1994 Tour Glide Ultra Classic. I've been thinking to upgrade the headlights with either HID or LED. My question would be.., what kind or brand will works? Just because in my mind.., those individual HID/LED lamp has low and high beam in it whereas with my tour glide, when the bike is on then both lamps are on as low beam. Than you have to flick to button to make it both lamps work in high beam.
So.., as you now realized by reading my explanation above, I'm not up there yet with the A-Z of how the headlight works in particular with my own tour glide. Would anyone help me with this lack and steer me to the right direction?
If they are 7" headlights I would vote for the Trucklite LEDs. I like mine. They are bright, durable, and use a lot less amps than stock or HID. They are plug and play to a stock three-prong wiring harness. They do stick out about 1/2 inch beyond the headlight housing. I adapted a standard GM headlight ring to cover the extension. Search Ebay for the best price. These would be compatible if both of your headlights are dual position - light both dim and bright.
Those look to be low beam only. That would eliminate your high beam. I think you can get a set that is high beam regular, low beam HID, or maybe HID both, but not sure about that. Look on Amazon.com for an HID system for the bulb type you have.
I put a similar kit to that on my RAV4 a few weeks ago. $40 on amazon, delivered. Low beam only.
