Yeah, I ran a compression test on them and made sure they were full of oil. The headlight fluid was a little overfull too. Is that a burnt out valve or the doings of a ********?

I told tman back when his oil stunk like gas the float could stick intermittently. He refuses to listen to me because he thinks my crank is bent and I won't listen to him. tman I think your float is bent! All joking aside I checked and I don't have the extra float I thought I had just a bunch of other random parts. If you pull it off you should be able to find where it's sticking on the work bench. I'd start with the pin then check the condition of the needle and seat. Wouldn't take much for it to get hung up.

Since you are the one working on it I guess you will have to answer your own question.

Your crank is still bent.

It.s probably hanging up on the pin and not the needle but we shall see.

When I bought a new carb I stripped my old one. The float pin is one that you have to drive out its not a loose fit like small engine float pin. I would imagine the pin can get gunk in it that you wouldn't catch with a cleaning. The pin only comes out in one direction though check your fsm before you smack it. I think it's marked with an arrow though. Also, my crank ain't bent!

Yep, marked with an arrow.

Your crank is bent bro... unless you want to say you did it in purpose to have your own personal vibrator.

Snagged a new needle from my indy... going to tear it all apart when my new plug wires come in and see where that gets me. I'm going to clean the petcock screen as well.

My indy has some **** he can soak the carb in which works better than carb cleaner... a lot more caustic, but I'm thinking white vinegar will do well for a poor boy like me. Going to give her a soak in some white vinegar to make sure it's really clean.
