I totally agree with you that's why I don't claim the corrected SAE numbers of my dyno runs. it said I hit 113hp and 118tq I use uncorrected numbers of 103hp and 105tq they are closer to the real thing.

Default Thanx for the back...

That is exactly what I am tryin to do. I'm not lookin to pound the p i s s out of any one. I just want that Mark......and was looking at options that's all. I know a good amount about performance and might even find a way without spending more than $20 and some honest labor of love. I just want to look at other options and maybe someone somewhere had that little trick that got them there. That's all....and I do believe I was told 198 on the cccr but am not exactly sure.I only threw out the 195 cause I know it was up there somewhere and the thought of compression releases was eliminated because of my 1.2kw starter and big battery. Thanx D...

I have compression releases and a 1.7kw starter and when its cold it really struggles to turn over.

maybe you over looked some small stuff like lighter rotor, titanium valves and spring caps, roller rockers anything to lighten moving parts will gain more HP

Change the compensator sprocket?

You are making me feel all those "torque cams" are really just lame cams and they just have no torque and little top end ... a cam that doesn't need a compression bump just isn't worth having.

BTW, how do the Woods work so well?

no magic really they are narrow duration cams and he takes advantage is lobe separation angles to broaden the torque curv and for the most part dont split the intake and exhaust

so what you get is a smarter andrews and almost a kind of comp cams - Mr crane was the only one on the planet to show all the rest how to really do it with a cam designs, no ones cams out ran the cranes for all around performance

i am not going to get into a pissing match over it but i dont like them, and its not how they work or even the extra noise by design they will make - i see in a shop in a week sometimes, that an owner wont see in the life time of owning a bike - and i willl leave it at that

A good reminder there's more to living with a cam than dyno sheet results.

Are they not making the Crane designs anymore?

See my recent thread about S&S and Crane. It seems S&S will continue to make at least some of the Crane cams.
