I like NGK BP5RES11 (non Iridiums), but the Iridiums are supposed to better...
I am a professional cynic and tried the Iridiums expecting them to be ho-hum but on both my bikes (Evo and then TC) they did exactly what the hype said they would, so now that is all I use.....although it will be a very long time before I need to change plugs.
the only thing HD plugs are good for... nothing
hands down the best plug to use in a Harley is NGK
There was an English guy on the Dyna forum a while back who would have just loved to argue that point with you...he claims that H-D plugs have a special resistance rating that other brands do not have which means the motor lasts way longer if you use the H-D ones...he wouldn't back down either.....I think he must have been a paid H-D troll....
It's sort of like the sound of an exhaust "Which Exhaust Sound Best" It's about dependability and preference. I've used Autolite Platinums for years and never an Issue. Doesn't mean it's the best but what worked for me..
I was asked why I say ngk plugs are the best so im going to put it in this thread.
there is only one reason longevity and superior quality in the materials they use.
ive been using ngk plugs for over 30 years and found if you have a motor that loves to foul plugs like my old Suzuki lt250r ngk is the way to go. and ive tried lots of different plugs I usually would get about 8hr out of a ngk plug. with champion about 45min bosh about 3hr and autolite around 4hr.
my shovel head would eat autolite plugs once a month and now with the ngk plugs every six months.
will ngk plugs make more hp? who cares they last longer....
