Maybe there's less oil left behind than I thought , just curious if anyone has made this mod.Doesn't mean it's a bad idea but I will leave well enough alone.I may rebuilt motor next winter is the reason for my question.
I really don't see any benefit of adding an oil drain plug. I've been riding bikes for almost 50 years and have owned my Glide since new, in 1990. The notion of 'dirty oil' left behind is very recent in my experience. The only bike I got bothered about was one that had an oil cooler, which along with its hoses held around a pint of oil, which was a bit messy to get out, but worthwhile.
In half a million miles I haven't had a single bike give trouble due to engine lubrication, except a troublesome stroker that used premix fuel/oil. Many of my bikes have had an oilbag, like my Evo, but it isn't even worth emptying the oil hoses between tank and engine IMHO. Relax man!
I like the idea of circulating without the oil filter on,almost tried that but thought it a little crazy apparently not my idea though ,tooooo funny!!!!! Not sure if I'll try though, maybe.

Running without an oil filter (on an Evo or Shovelhead) accomplishes the same thing as the scavenger puck does.

in my shop we leave the oil filter off and after filling the motor oil we start it and run untill the oil is clean - then install the new filter
antique bikes its different but we do them almost the same way
no one does it that way ????? really
Been doing that since day one, cut the bottom off a old filter and screw it on, saves making a mess.
Takes a half qt. to clear on the bagger with the filter under the trans and 10 row Jagg,
unless you use oil to its determined change point you never get the benifits the oil was designed for in the first place
we have raced with guys who never changed the oil all season and when possable they Bought the used oil from nitro burning race cars to add to the oil they use -
reason nitro has an oxygen agent in it and at different temps it is released into the combustion chamber Via the engine oil - royal purple has this in its oil BUT it only last so long then the power boost you get is gone
