Interesting.
The HI-4 (8-2100) I have in the bike is a single fire unit.
I guess I never checked whether I have 1 coil or 2...
I bought this bike new in 94. Ran my 500 mile breakin, brought back to dealer and had them install carb, cam, pipes, ignition, push rods and haven't looked back since. It was a good set up from the beginning.
One coil ?? two ??... Stock coil ??... (At this point 'll assume it has 2)
I will check 4 sure and get back to you's.
More than likely lead to more questions.
Thanks for all your suggestions thus far.

Ultima is hard to beat on price and works well, did have a Ultima module fail in the 127" last year, the module was 5 years old when installed into the 127" maybe the heat from the big motor added to failure but only can assume no evidence. Had no problem putting a new Ultima ignition back in it.

Thanks for the input.
I have read that Dyna and Ultima are the same thing ?
Both manufactured by Dynatek ??

Don't know if that is the truth.
We use/stock Dyna 2000i's here, that way we can sleep good knowing our client has a top quality long-proven component in his/her bike.

it is very true they are exactly the same just different stickers. I pulled two bad ones apart a dyna and ultima the boards had the same id numbers. I looked up the board numbers and came up with a electronic mfg. in china.
so I called dynatek and asked them how they could sell them under a made in USA stamp they said "they were assembled is the USA" next I called ultima that took 3 days for them to call me back I asked if they copied the dyna 2000i his response was "no we buy them from dynatek and put our lable on it".
so yes they are the same and if you want to program the ultima you use the dynatek curvemaker program.
