Ignition ?
I just installed the Ultima nose cone unit this past weekend. Install went pretty well, I took my time removing the old stock ignition module and sensor plate instead of just cutting the wires out. Routed the new wires in the old location and even added extra sheathing to the areas that might come in contact with other items like engine, frame, etc. Yes, a little ****, but I was stuck at home and had all the time in the world to do it.
I ended up cutting just two wires. The motorcycle pink (tach wire) at the coil and the violet VOES wire at the old module connector. All my connections were made at the general location of the old module (under seat and behind breaker panel cover). I tried to consider all cuts and connections so things could be easily returned to stock if I ever decided to. Not sure why I would go back to stock, but you never know.
Looking back on it, I would strongly consider a module that is plug and play like the dynatek 2000p. It does not have single fire feature, but you may not even want that feature. Might be worth some consideration, and It is only 30 bucks more than the ultima nose cone module (both available on fleabay).
My only head scratcher with the install was I could not figure out why my bike only ran on one cylinder after the install was complete. I double and triple checked everything, went over it again, and again, and kept saying to myself "it's something simple, it's something stupid your missing", then it dawned on me, check the damn micro switches!! Yep, my micro switch was set for single fire and the module was installed for dual fire. Once that switch was changed to dual fire (along with the correct advance curve and rev limiter micro switches), life was good. YD

Download the Dynatek Curvemaker software for free to program your 2000i or Ultima with a PC. You can view diagnostics and change the dead revs (for kick starting). USB cable is here https://sites.google.com/site/vrusb2000i/
