Paint question
I've used PPG self etching primer sealer with great results. I've used it under PPG base coat / clear coat and House of Kolor Kandy paints (Shimmerin base) . Never any issues. It you have never used self etching primer, make sure you get and read the tech sheets before you start mixing.
Thank You Sir WP

I have a black 97 FLHT that we are going to paint. If there is a paint person on here I have a question. I intend to paint the bike with a basecoat/clearcoat pearl white. What I need is a recommendation on a Good primer/sealer. Sandable and decent fill, may need to set a week or two after spraying.
It's been 25+ yrs since I tackled a project like this
Damn what happened to DuPont Centuri
Like I'd try and shoot that after all this time bseg

as far as paint goes HOK is the best and worth every penny.
Thank You Sir WP
If you have the time to wait for the primer to fully cure there is no problem but if you are priming then base coating/clear, you need to keep your paint system uniform.
And then there is price. Don't be afraid to shop price. You pay big bucks for those big names.
Do you still have all your equipment?

What I'm learning is gravity fed guns are used more nowadays it seems.

almost forgot Uro primer is sold under many names now but its all the same
and will set you back about 100.00 for a qt that's counting all three parts
and it will fill small dents with one coat.

I used base\clear doing mine in my shop. I used the self etching primer. I bought a HVLP gun from Harbor Freight. I prepped everything and hung them up. Hardest part was keeping them from moving around. I did have to do some buffing due to runs but well worth it in the end.
I haven't used my big gun in years, you waist to much paint, pick up a small touch up gravity gun on eBay for twenty buck, it will pay for itself. Easy to use, easy to clean, better results.
