Just went to the barn. My '96 fxsts front tire / Metzeler 880 MH90-21 54H. The "OUTSIDE" with of the rim is something like 3 3/16" Can't get to the rear. Hope this helps.
21" x 2.15" is the correct size...same size as a regular softail with a 21" front wheel..but the springer has a different offset in the hub, so a "regular" wheel will not be a bolt on proposal. I just measured a springer and regular softail wheel... and on the springer wheel the brake rotor is right at 1/2" closer to the center of the wheel...so if you change the spacers so the brake rotor lines up, the wheel will not be in the center of the fender...and since it is closer, the only way to really correct it would be to machine the hub or re-lace the wheel for more offset...and if you plan to still run the front speedo drive...if will be even more fun.

What Tom said is true about offsets, not sure why you want the Ultima 60 or if that is a fat spoke. I see a 50 fat daddy for fxsts1988_99 for $800.00 your size.
Gee thanks tom!! Haha. Ok so 800 for one wheel is a little pricey. Im lookin for a spoke wheel, never seen a 60 or 80 spoke so im really not sure which id rather have. Dont want a fat spoke though. Where can i find a spoke springer wheel for a decent price?
It is probably a catch 22 since it is a one model only wheel. Get ready to open that checkbook. But remember it looks so good. ;-) I'll go back to the old saying it is better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. I guess that is why I am now single again.
J&P CYCLE has a forty spoke ,21"x2.15" ,1988-99 FXSTS , for$450.00 ,Trying to help ya out.
At that price, you might be able to get a factory wheel...some places still have them listed...the part number has changed a few times..but it is just an A B C added to the original part number...my bet is the newer ones will require mods to work with the speedo drive.
